Well if anyone I've played mostly all the sonic games. And well in Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 sonic can transform into super sonic and even go a level beyond as Hyper Sonic in Sonic 3. And all the recent sonic games sonic can only go into that level in the final boss and well i've been waiting for a sonic game that lets you do that at will by collecting 50 Rings.
